When my last book was published in 2016, my life was in turmoil - I had just lost my beloved mum and my marriage had ended. I had gone from being a stay-at-home mum to working as a lawyer again.
Over the next few years it was hard to make time for writing as I built my new life and my new family. Then the pandemic happened! Like many people, I found that home working and home school meant there was no time or headspace for anything creative. And I found myself without a publisher. It felt like the end of the line for my writing. Thankfully I have some amazing people in my life who believe in me, and who made me pick myself up and keep going. I finished "The Child in My House", and I am publishing it myself. It has been a huge learning curve but I am so excited and proud to bring this book into the world. I made this picture to remind myself how far I have come, and to make sure I never give up.
